The salt cycleway
An 8-kilometre long cycle lane connects Cartura to the town of Due Carrare, winding along the path of the Vigenzone canal. The cycleway runs along the old river route where the “burci” (vessels used until the 1960s to transport goods) used to pass to move salt and sugar from one town to the other. This part of the cycle lane starts from Ponte Riva in Cartura and follows the right side and then the left side of the Vigenzone canal, until it reaches the Bacchiglione cycleway, which can be used to reach the Venetian lagoon.
