Oratory of the Holy Trinity

Oratory of the Holy Trinity

Pernumia (PD)

Founded by Franciscan monks around the 1220s and completely remade in a Classical style in the 16th century by Lorenzo da Bologna, the “Oratorio della Santissima Trinità” was occupied by Austrian troops in 1861. In 1895, it was sold at auction and converted into a country house, but it was bought back in 1966 by archpriest Father Giovanni Prosdocimi, who donated it to the parish. Restoration works have brought several artworks back to light, they are partially damaged but currently visible. These include a cycle of frescoes: “The Resurrection of Christ between Saint Francis and Saint Bernardino of Siena”, “The Crucifixion in the Triumphal Arch, Apostoles”, attributed to Jacopo Parisati of Montagnana (1443 – 1499).   Address: via Trinità 23, Pernumia (PD) Open to the public Info: www.parrocchiapernumia.it
