Church of San Matteo

Church of San Matteo

San Pietro Viminario (PD)

The church of San Matteo in San Pietro Viminario is a good example of Late-Romanesque architecture. The church was built in 1275, commissioned by cardinal Paltanieri from Monselice, as it was part of that town’s territory until the last century. The church’s architecture was modified in 1795. The restoration works done in 1958 brought back the church’s original lines and it was declared a national monument.   Address: via San Matteo 1, località Vanzo, San Pietro Viminario (PD) Open to the public Info: http://www.comune.sanpietroviminario.pd.it/
