Palazzetto Widmann

Palazzetto Widmann

Bagnoli di Sopra (PD)

Palazzetto Widmann is located opposite Bagnoli di Sopra’s main square, where the villa and church were built. Realized around 1707 by abbot Antonio, one of the heirs of the Widmann family, who chose it as his private home, the estate stands on a preexisting two-storey building that was built at the end of the 16th-century by the religious order Canonici del Santo Spirito, whose design Antonio Widmann tried to preserve.   It is home to frescoes by Ercole Gaetano Bertuzzi and Ludovico Doorigny, who probably did the frescoes on the main floor. The spiral staircase in a Baroque style is also worth noticing.   Address: Piazza Martiri d’Ungheria 1, Bagnoli di Sopra (PD)
